Description
The need for enhanced awareness of the potential for research bias is growing with the expanded use of digital health applications derived from human research findings. Students need to understand the expanded definitions of bias in two categories: data bias and cognitive bias. This workshop will use engagement activities to enhance awareness of bias. Attendees will gain three takeaways: (1) awareness of an expanded list of bias types, (2) application on a business example using the product ecosystem to explore the types of bias that might be present, and (3) how bias can impact digital applications and product designs used for business and healthcare decisions.
