Dr. Mary Bemker-Page is a recognized scholar and practitioner, a dynamic and forward – thinking nurse educator/administrator, and an individual with a deep commitment to nursing and mental health. In addition to teaching at the university level for over 25 years, Dr. Bemker worked extensively in community mental health with high-risk youths and adolescents. Dr. Bemker started and maintained a counseling and development department for a Fortune 500 Company, and she worked on both an intensive care psychiatric unit and the emergency department in the hospital setting. She has worked 20 plus years in a private practice with specializations in addictions, PTSD and trauma issues, and family dynamics. She co-edited and wrote several chapters in three nursing textbooks. The population health textbook was selected as the 2018 AJN Book of the Year for advanced practice nurses. A fourth nursing textbook focusing on graduate level leadership is in process.
Dr. Bemker is a Quality Matters Peer Reviewer, lead for Disaster Mental Health (American Red Cross Kentuckiana Chapter) and offers Services to the Armed Forces via workshops and community outreach. Presentations on the above topics at professional conferences, community events and via written works are something that Dr. Bemker enjoys. Dr. Bemker is a Henderson Fellow and a Fellow in the American Association of Social Psychiatry. As an administrator, Dr., Bemker has work in community health, education and healthcare administration. She has served on a variety of organization boards and is past president of two Rotary Clubs and a Paul Harris Fellow. Dr. Mary Bemker is core faculty in the MSN Program at Walden University.
