This discussion will focus on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic within the LGBTQIA+ community throughout the world and within the United States using a newly developed public policy model that illustrates how marginalization impacts the LBGTQIA+ community.

What You Will Learn
Upon successful completion of this activity:
- Participants will learn about the ways in which requests for data about LGBTQIA+ people who have COVID-19 (e.g., number of cases, number of long-haul cases, number of deaths) have been made available in one governmental jurisdiction, collected but not shared in seven states, and not collected or made available in the remaining 47 states and six territories.
- Participants will learn about the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on LGBTQIA+ employment, hunger, immigration, disability, mental health, substance misuse, businesses, nonprofit organizations, prison organizations, public healthcare, vaccine equity, coalition building, and African-American, Hispanic, and Asian-American/Pacific Islander communities, among many other policy issues.
