Wallace (“Wally”) Swan’s background (M.P.A., M.A.P.A., and D.P.A.) has included teaching public policy, administrative ethics, public, for-profit and non-profit finance as well as organization theory at Western International University, Adjunct Assistant Professor of Political Science at the University of St. Thomas, Community Faculty Member at Metropolitan State University, Nova Southeastern University (Instructor and Minnesota doctoral cluster program director), and has served as an Adjunct Professor on the faculty of the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China. He currently is a Contributing Faculty Member at Walden University and has served as an Adjunct Instructor of Public Administration at Hamline University. He has edited 5 books in the field of LGBTQIA+ public policy, and is currently the editor of a forthcoming (2022) book on the national and international impact of the pandemic on the LGBTQIA+ community He served three terms as the first openly gay city-wide elected official in the history of Minneapolis on the Minneapolis Board of Estimate and Taxation; and is currently a member of the Board of the non-profit Rainbow Health Minnesota and is Vice Chair of the Minneapolis Area DFL Senior Caucus.
