The Practice of Addiction Counseling

Learn the best evidence-based practices and tools for treatment and recovery support for in-person and virtual services and learn to help your clients remain open to change. Register Today!

Description

Initiating addiction treatment is much like a puzzle. To create an effective treatment plan, you must understand the layers and nuances of the client's history-digging into the client's biological, psychological, emotional, and systemic background-and conceptualize the case, making hypotheses that serve as a map to which factors you must address and in what order.

The Practice of Addiction Counseling Learning Path will identify the data you need to describe and contextualize the client accurately, and the best evidence-based practices and tools for treatment and recovery support. It will explain considerations when offering remote services and how to leverage your relationship with the client to help them recognize and resolve their ambivalence while remaining open to change.
