Description
Over the past two decades, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved over a dozen medications for the treatment of substance use disorders, which are known collectively as medication-assisted treatment (MAT). The research has shown that treatment alone or medications exclusively are not as effective as combining treatment and medication.
This micro-course explores the role of MAT in recovery and will discuss how these medications work and how they are a powerful adjunct alongside treatment.
